MADE HOLY AND BLAMELESS

MADE HOLY AND BLAMELESS - STANDING FAULTLESS BEFORE GOD.

Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in His physical body. As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault. Colossians 1:22 NLT

One of the things you must do often when studying scriptures is to take note of the tenses used. It will do a great deal in helping you clear certain theories established by logical religious minds.

The common tenses used in our theme scripture is the PAST TENSE and PRESENT TENSE. This means that it’s an event or occurrence that already happened and the reality of what currently happens respectively.

The theme scripture states that God reconciled us to himself through the death of Christ in His physical body. This is not what will happen, this is what happened!

The blockage that existed between God and man was brought down. God didn't come closer to man nor man to God.

I know some folks that will state things like "When you get closer to God, you begin to experience so and so". It's not precisely so.

There is something the mind cannot understand of what exactly happened. God made his home in a Christian and a Christian now lives in Him.

He's in you and you are in Him! Hallelujah!

He has brought you into his own presence like the verse above shows us.

This is what righteousness is: The ability to stand in the presence of God without any sense of guilty, inferiority, or complexity.

Notice what he's telling us in the last part of this scripture.

"....and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault"

This is the present tense! It's the reality of an occurrence. That's what you are made in Him.

Read it again now in the first person context like this

...and (I am) holy and blameless as (I) stand before him without a single fault.

You are HOLY AND BLAMELESS. You stand before God faultless. Why? Because your faults were laid on Jesus at the cross.

Read how 2 Corinthians 5:21 puts it in MSG

“How?” you ask, “In Christ. God put the wrong on him who never did anything wrong, so we could be put right with God."

Holiness is not an act. I hear some folks say "you can be righteous but not holy because righteousness is a gift but holiness is what you do". Total false!

This isn't what the scripture is telling us here. Holiness is not what "good things" you do. Otherwise most non born again fellows would be holy.

Holiness is the presence of God in a person or place.

When you read all the scriptures in the OT when the presence of God landed in a particular place, it became holy. The holiest place in the tabernacle housed the Ark of the Covenant.

Now your body is the temple of God himself. You are the HQ of God! How much Holy should you be? He made you Holy for His sake.

“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
Heb 12:2
